PDG AKS V.R. Muthu and PAG Arumugaa Selvan visited the Centre for the Handicapped
On 18th January 2024, PDG.AKS V.R.Muthu and PAG Arumugaa Selvan, representing Rotary District 3212 India, visited the Centre for Handicapped along with members of the Kandy Rotary Club. During their visit, they were presented with an overview of the Centre’s work and taken on a tour to witness the process of manufacturing artificial limbs.
The visitors enjoyed a heartwarming dance performance by our Jolly Youngsters, a group of differently-abled children. During the visit, five individuals received artificial limbs, and ten others were provided with spectacles. The guests had the opportunity to engage in conversations with the recipients, who shared how the comfortable artificial limbs from CFH have enabled them to lead successful and fulfilling lives.
We are deeply grateful for their support, which extended beyond just the provision of artificial limbs. The funds from GG2454686 were utilized for a range of initiatives, including livelihood support, awareness programs, and agricultural projects, all contributing to the empowerment of the differently-abled community. Additionally, the funds facilitated capacity development at CFH through training programs for staff, as well as providing instrumental and component support.
In the visitors’ book, PDG.AKS V.R.Muthu left a thoughtful remark: “Centre for Handicapped is a ‘MODEL’ Rotary Club. All the best.”
We sincerely appreciate their unwavering commitment, deep interest, and generous support for the cause of the physically impaired. Their contributions will help many individuals regain near-normal lives and improve their livelihoods.
