PDG AKS V.R. Muthu and PAG Arumugaa Selvan visited the Centre for Handicapped
On 18 January 2024, distinguished Rotarians PDG A.K.S. V.R. Muthu and PAG Arumugaa Selvan from Rotary District 3212, India, visited the Centre for Handicapped (CFH) together with members of the Rotary Club of Kandy.
During their visit, they learned about CFH’s mission and rehabilitation services through a presentation and guided tour of the Centre, including an introduction to the process of manufacturing artificial limbs. They also enjoyed a special dance performance by CFH’s Jolly Youngsters, a group of children with disabilities.
As part of the visit, five individuals received artificial limbs and ten individuals received spectacles, helping them improve their mobility, independence, and quality of life. The visitors also had the opportunity to meet and interact with CFH beneficiaries who are successfully leading active lives with the support of their artificial limbs.
Through Global Grant GG2454686, the Rotary team further strengthened CFH’s capacity by supporting staff training, essential equipment, and prosthetic components. This support has contributed not only to the direct rehabilitation of beneficiaries but also to enhancing CFH’s ability to provide quality services to people with disabilities.
CFH sincerely appreciates the commitment, generosity, and continued support of the Rotary team. Their partnership is helping individuals with disabilities regain mobility, confidence, independence, and the opportunity to lead more fulfilling lives.
